1. We, soleadea.org, created a user-friendly platform to help you prepare for the Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®) exam.

2. We collect information, including personal data, in various ways when you use the soleadea.org website and our Online Services. Personal data means any data which, either alone or in combination with other information, identifies you as an individual, such as your First name or E-mail address. The collected data is transferred to a third country, this being the United States of America, for the purposes of website hosting and newsletter service. You may request a copy of your data transferred to the third country by contacting us via our Contact Form available at http://www.soleadea.org/contact-us.

3. We process your data only if you provided us with the data voluntarily.

4. We do not sell nor rent nor make the data that allow your identification available to any third party.

I. WHAT SORT OF DATA WE COLLECT AND WHY

There are 2 types of data we collect:

(1) data you choose to provide:

– when you decide to set up an Account at soleadea.org:

First name, E-mail address, Exam date/level

These are the minimum data necessary to run your Account. If you refuse to give any of these data, you will not be able to set an Account at soleadea.org.

You may choose to give your country or city, e.g. when editing your profile in your Account (available at http://soleadea.org/user) or registering via dedicated pages other than http://soleadea.org/study2/start.

Note that all the data given in your profile – apart from your e-mail and password, of course – can be viewed by other Users.

- when you wish to contact us:

using our Contact Form: we need to know your First name and E-mail address

using our chat box: you may submit your E-mail address if you want us to get back to you directly to your inbox

These data enable our contact with you.

- when you wish to sign up for our free workshops on or outside our website:

First name and E-mail address

These data enable us to make the workshop available to you.

- when you decide to make a purchase:

First name, Surname, and E-mail address

These are the data necessary for accounting purposes.

Note that whenever you buy from us, we collect no data concerning your credit/debit card. All payments are carried out using secure payment processing gateways, i.e. PayPal or Gumroad.

(2) information collected via technology:

– your IP address and browser information become automatically available when you visit our website (based on your IP address, we may establish other information such as your country and city, which we sometimes do e.g. for accounting purposes).

- cookies are collected automatically for the proper maintenance and service of our website.


II. HOW WE PROCESS COLLECTED DATA

Personal data

Forms

We may process data of the Users who chose to submit data via Contact Form or Registration Form by means of our website. The data is processed primarily to make your contact with us possible or to provide requested service. It is processed owing to your voluntary data submission. You may access, correct, amend, delete, or request to erase your data at any time.

Sign in panel

We may process the data concerning your E-mail address by means of our website to enable your access to requested Online Services. The data is processed as a result of the Agreement entered into by you and us. You may access, correct, amend, delete, or request to erase your data at any time.

STUDY PLAN NOTIFICATIONS

We may process the data concerning your First name, E-mail address, and Exam date/level to send you the 'Keep me on track' notifications that are an integral part of the Study Plan of your choice. The notifications promote systematic learning by urging you to sum up your study achievements each week. The data is processed as a result of the Agreement entered into by you and us. You may access, correct, amend, delete, or request to erase your data at any time.

Newsletter service

If you subscribed to our Newsletter by ticking “I want to receive important deadline reminders, pre-exam tips, interesting blog posts notifications and special offers” at registration or while signing up for our workshops, we may process the data concerning your First name, E-mail address, and Exam date/level. The contents of our Newsletter sent to you may be determined by your Exam date/level but it is only to ensure that our communication with you is of the highest interest and value to you. The data is processed as a result of your voluntary consent, which you can withdraw at any time either by unsubscribing directly from our Newsletter or by unticking the right box in your Account (available at: http://soleadea.org/user). You may access, correct, amend, delete, or request to erase your data at any time.

TRANSACTIONAL E-MAILS

We may process the data concerning your First name, E-mail address, and Exam date/level to send you some transactional e-mails such as a welcome e-mail or cart reminders. The data is processed as a result of the Agreement entered into by you and us. You may access, correct, amend, delete, request to erase your data or object to its processing at any time.

WORKSHOPS AND CHAT BOX

We may process the data concerning your First name and E-mail address if you sign up for our workshops or contact us using the chat box available on our website. The data is processed owing to your voluntary data submission only in order to provide requested service. You may access, correct, amend, delete, or request to erase your data at any time.

ONLINE SERVICES IMPROVEMENT

We may process your data in order to improve our Online Services, develop the soleadea.org website and enhance your experience. If this is the case, your data is pseudonymized (which means it no longer immediately identifies you) and processed only for the purpose of collective analysis. The data is processed based on the legitimate interest of the Service Provider. You may access, correct, amend, delete, request to erase your data or object to its processing at any time.

Data disclosure

Your data will not be disclosed or made available in any way to any third party except for the prosecution authorities which may carry out criminal proceedings.


Cookies

We may process automatically anonymized data on you, known as cookies (small bits of textual information which are sent by www server and saved by your web browser). In accordance with article 173 section 2 of the Polish Act of 16 July 2004 on telecommunications law as amended (published in Polish Dz.U. 2004 No. 171 item 1800, ustawa z dnia 16 lipca 2004 r. – Prawo Telekomunikacyjne) your data can be processed only if you did not change settings of your web browser which is interpreted as you having given consent to the data processing. You can change your web browser settings and disable cookies at any time.

Website service

In order for our website to be displayed properly, we process the data concerning the name and version of your web browser and your IP address. It is necessary for us to collect and process the information so as the maintenance and service of our website were carried out duly. The data is also used to track the visits to our website and understand the relevance of the information we publish to improve the site content.

Your data will not be disclosed or made available in any way to any third party except for the prosecution authorities which may carry out criminal proceedings.


III. HOW WE PROTECT YOUR DATA

We abide by the European Union provisions concerning data processing and data protection, in particular by the provisions of the Polish Act of 10 May 2018 on personal data protection (published in Polish Dz. U. 2018 item 1000, ustawa z dnia 10 maja 2018 r. o ochronie danych osobowych) and related administrative acts. Based on the applicable law, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority on a possible infringement of your right to protect your personal data or any other rights guaranteed by this law.

V. PRIVACY AND COOKIES POLICY MODIFICATIONS

We may change Privacy and Cookies Policy at any time. In the event of substantial modification, we will publish an information note on our home page. This is binding Privacy and Cookies Policy. It has been binding since 16 July 2013 and updated meanwhile for the sake of EU 2016/679 General Data Protection Regulation compliance.
