AUG 2026 CFA EXAM ACCESS SCHOLARSHIP DATE

The Access Scholarship window for Aug 2026 CFA candidates is from 11 Nov to 1 Dec 2025. Mind the deadline because the scholarship application window is not too long!

If you wish to sit for the Aug 2026 CFA exam and apply for the Access Scholarship, you must apply during the application period for the Aug exam. After you're awarded your scholarship, you can use it for the Aug 2026 exam only. It's not valid for any other CFA exam.

As of 2025 CFA exams, there's a new Access Scholarship, with 4 application windows per year and the total CFA exam registration fee reduced to USD 400.

CFA EXAM DATES EXPLAINED

AUG 2026 LEVEL 3 CFA EXAM WINDOW is from 13 to 17 Aug 2026.

The days when you can take your AUG 2026 level 3 CFA exam span from 13 to 17 Aug.

However, mind that the exact length of the AUG window depends on the test center you choose and the geographic region you live in. Actually, it may be shorter than 13 – 17 Aug, so read your test center info carefully when registering for and scheduling your CFA exam.

AUG 2026 CFA EXAM REGISTRATION STARTS on 11 Nov 2025.

The registration window for the AUG 2026 level 3 exam opens on 11 Nov 2025. First, you need to register for your AUG exam, which means you need to pay the due fees.

Feb 2026 CFA exam registration fees go up. The early-bird registration fee is USD 1240 (up from USD 1090) and the standard registration fee is USD 1590 (up from USD 1390).

2026 CFA EXAM REGISTRATION FEES

The AUG 2026 CFA exam fees paid at registration are
USD 1240 (early) or USD 1590 (standard).

IMPORTANTLY, in 2026 CFA exam registration fees also depend on exam level, so level 3 fees are higher than level 1 or level 2 fees.

After you register, you're bound to self-schedule your exam within the exam window available in your area. The scheduling deadline is not until 13 May 2026.

AUG 2026 CFA EXAM EARLY REGISTRATION DEADLINE is on 21 Jan 2026.

There's a special registration fee for early birds and it's USD 1240. It applies from 11 Nov 2025 to 21 Jan 2026.

Please note the special Pay-by-Invoice deadline that falls on 27 March for the AUG exam. It was set up for computer-based CFA exams and is now longer than the early registration fee deadline.

AUG 2026 CFA EXAM REGISTRATION DEADLINE is on 6 May 2026.

The standard registration fee for lvl 3 2026 CFA exams is USD 1590. It applies from 22 Jan to 6 May 2026.

Remember that it is not enough just to register for your CFA exam. Registration comes hand in hand with scheduling.

AUG 2026 CFA EXAM SCHEDULING DEADLINE is on 13 May 2026.

After you register, you're bound to self-schedule your CFA exam via ProScheduler.

Importantly, scheduling is free of charge and the scheduling period is longer than the registration period. For the AUG exam, it ends on 13 May 2026. If you fail to schedule your exam appointment, you won’t be able to take your CFA exam and you'll forfeit your registration fees.

AUG 2026 CFA EXAM RESCHEDULING DEADLINE is on 3 Aug 2026.

A rescheduling fee is a new CFA exam fee that was introduced for computer-based exams back in 2021. CFA exam rescheduling means that you can still change your CFA exam date and/or test center after you register for and schedule your AUG exam. You may change the date and/or test center as many times as you want but every change is going to cost you money.

2026 CFA EXAM RESCHEDULING FEE

For the 2026 CFA exams, the optional CFA exam rescheduling fee is USD 250 per each re-appointment.

How does CFA exam rescheduling work?

It may happen that the optimal-for-you exam date and/or test center is already taken at the time when you schedule your exam. But you will judge it reasonable to schedule your exam anyway. After that, you can go back and check your preferred test center for seating availability at your optimal exam date. As soon as it's available to you, you'll be able to make amendments upon paying your rescheduling fee.

AUG 2026 CFA EXAM RESULTS DATE is most likely 28 Sept 2026.

Level 3 CFA exam results come out in 6–8 weeks after the close of the exam window. So, the most optimistic CFA exam result date for the AUG 2026 level 3 candidates is 28 Sept 2026. But the results may arrive later than that.

As always, the Minimum Passing Score (MPS) for the Feb exam will be established after all the exams are graded and exam difficulty is established. For the 2026 CFA exams, the MPS has been set at 3600 for level 3. This is a scale score, which means that the exact MPS understood as the percentage of points needed to pass is still not known and never released by CFA Institute.

Importantly, remember to complete your PSM module before the results are released. There's no extra time after the exam result date if you fail to complete your PSM in time. The consequences of not completing your obligatory PSM are rather painful...

AFTER YOU PASS YOUR
AUG EXAM

If you pass your level 3 exam in Aug 2026, your CFA exams are over! That's it for you – now you can become a CFA charterholder and member.

If, however, you fail your level 3 CFA exam, mind the rule of 6-months-between-exams according to which:

• if you fail your Aug 2026 exam the soonest you can retake your level 3 exam is in Feb 2027.

To pass your level 3 CFA exam, there are some things you need to know. For starters, the exam will be divided into 2 sessions, 132 minutes each, with an optional break meanwhile.

In your level 3 CFA exam, you may expect some item sets and some constructed response (essay) questions. Previously, essay questions used to be included in the first session of the level 3 CFA exam, while item sets comprised the second session of the exam. Starting in 2023, each exam session contains a mix of essay sets and item sets. There are 11 essay sets and 11 item sets altogether. So, in each session, you can expect either 6 item sets and 5 essay sets or 5 item sets and 6 essay sets. To know more, read about the level 3 CFA exam format in detail.
